CAPTURE THE FLAG

Capture The Flag is an intense and competitive game so make sure you attack your opponent’s flag symbol while also defending yours.

The object of this game is to capture your opponent’s flag before they capture yours. To capture their flag, you need to first win your opponent’s SYMBOL cup (which is their team’s YELLOW or ORANGE cup) before any other cups can be won. Once their cup is won, you can then work on capturing and winning the BLACK cups of your opponent’s flag. The first team to capture ALL of the cups of their opponent’s flag (the flag furthest from you) wins Capture The Flag.

Take the cup off of the board and add it to your stash ONLY IF your opponent’s flag symbol cup has already been won.
YELLOW CUP (Team Yellow’s Flag Symbol Cup)
IF this is your opponent’s flag symbol cup, take it off of the board and add it to your team’s stash.
ORANGE CUP (Team Orange’s Flag Symbol Cup)
IF this is your opponent’s flag symbol cup, take it off of the board and add it to your team’s stash.

HOW TO PLAY CAPTURE THE FLAG
GAME SETUP: Divide into 2 teams (1-2 players per team) and choose a cork color for your team. Each team will get 10 corks. Next, place the cups on the board according to the pattern shown above. Teams will stand approximately 5 steps back (one person measures using the heel to toe technique) from the Corkaine gameboard on opposite ends (or the same side if playing in a confined location) and place down their spot markers to mark their shooting distance. Gameplay begins after one quick round of paper-rock-scissors to determine which team goes first.
GAMEPLAY: Teams take turns shooting their corks one at a time at the cups on the gameboard while FIRST trying to win the opposing team’s SYMBOL cup (YELLOW or ORANGE cup). See cup rules above. Once all corks have been shot by both teams, the round ends and both teams approach the gameboard to see if either team won the other’s SYMBOL cup. If no team has won the other team’s SYMBOL cup at the end of the round, then rounds of gameplay continue until your opponent’s SYMBOL cup is won. Any cups won before you win your opposing team’s SYMBOL cup are void and cannot be won. However, once your team wins your opposing team’s SYMBOL cup, only then can your team now try to win the rest of the cups (BLACK cups) that are part of your opponent’s team flag. Rounds of gameplay continue until ALL of the cups of your opponent’s flag are won off of the gameboard at which time the game is over. The first team to accomplish this wins Capture The Flag.
TIE-BREAKER RULES: If the game ends in a tie, a sudden death round is used as the tie-breaker. In a sudden death round, all cups are removed from the gameboard and one BLACK cup is placed in the middle of the board. The first team to win that single BLACK cup (determined at the end of the sudden death round and after all corks have been shot by both teams) wins the tie-breaker and the game!
HOW CUPS ARE WON AT THE END OF A ROUND OF CAPTURE THE FLAG

Both teams try to win the other team’s symbol cup first. Once the opposing team’s symbol cup is won off of the board, the remaining black flag cups of the opposing team’s flag are then eligible to be won.
